Who writes Calling Test articles, who reviews them, and what we promise to every reader.
The CallingTest Editorial Team
Every article on this site is written by the CallingTest Editorial Team — a small group of writers, theologians, and pastoral practitioners who share a common conviction: that the people Googling questions about faith, purpose, and direction at 11pm on a Tuesday deserve more than recycled platitudes.
Our team brings together backgrounds in theology, biblical languages, pastoral counseling, and Christian publishing. We are intentionally cross-denominational — Reformed, Wesleyan, non-denominational, and charismatic voices are all part of the room — united by historic evangelical orthodoxy.
The Pastoral Editorial Team
Before any article is published, it passes through the CallingTest Pastoral Editorial Team. This is a separate review group whose job is to ensure every article meets these standards:
- Biblical accuracy. Every Scripture is quoted verbatim from the King James Version (public domain, doctrinally trusted). Every reference is verified. No paraphrasing presented as quotation.
- Theological soundness. Claims are tested against historic Christian teaching. Speculative or fringe positions are flagged or removed.
- Pastoral care. Articles that touch sensitive topics — depression, anxiety, grief, marriage crisis, suicidal thoughts, abuse — include clear guidance toward professional help where appropriate.
- Practical applicability. Principles are paired with actionable next steps. Theology that doesn't help the reader live differently doesn't earn its place on the page.
- Quotation integrity. Quotes from historical Christian authors are drawn from a curated, verified bank — never invented, never approximated. If we can't cite the chapter, page, or sermon, we don't use the quote.
How an Article Comes Together
- Drafted by the editorial team, using AI assistance for research and structure, with all theological and pastoral content written or rewritten by humans.
- Scripture-verified against the KJV on BibleGateway. Every verse, every reference.
- Pastorally reviewed for tone, care, and care-of-soul considerations — especially in articles on suffering, doubt, or struggle.
- Theologically reviewed against historic Christian teaching and the editorial team's statement of faith.
- Published with a clear byline, reviewer attribution, and last-reviewed date so readers can see exactly when the article was last checked.
- Maintained. Articles are not "set and forget." We update them as understanding deepens, errors are caught, or pastoral framing improves.
What We Promise the Reader
- Every Scripture quotation is verbatim from the King James Version.
- Every historical quote is verifiable to a real published work.
- No fabricated citations. No invented theologians. No "as someone once said."
- Sensitive topics include clear pathways to professional care.
- Articles are reviewed and updated over time, with the latest review date shown on every page.
- No paid placements, affiliate sales, or sponsored content. We have none.
Statement of Faith
The editorial team operates within historic, orthodox Christian conviction:
- The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God.
- Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, by His finished work on the cross and bodily resurrection.
- The Holy Spirit indwells, gifts, and guides every believer.
- Every person is created in God's image with inherent dignity and a unique calling.
- The local church is God's primary means for forming believers; this site is not a substitute for it.
We hold these convictions firmly, while extending grace and care to readers across the full range of Christian traditions and stages of faith.
Corrections & Feedback
If you find an error — a misquoted verse, an inaccurate citation, a theological claim that doesn't hold up — we want to know. Corrections are a gift, not a complaint.

What This Is Not
This site is not a replacement for your local pastor, a licensed counselor, a spiritual director, or a real flesh-and-blood Christian community. We're a starting point — a place to gain language, framework, and clarity. The real formation happens in your life, with real people, in real time.
If you're in crisis, please reach out to a pastor, counselor, or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
